The story of Pak which born in Mysore Royal Family. Madappa was the chief cook of late Mysore king Krishnaraja Vodayar. Once in a lunch, there was a shortage of one dish for the king. The one portion of the plate was empty. Due to lack of time, Madappa tried a new dish . He mixed gramflour with ghee , jaggery and Sugar , which was like a syrup. But it became dry and set after finishing the lunch. The king ate it and he liked it very much. Pakka is Kannada word which means sweet add finally it changes into Pak. After that it is officially named as Mysore Pak.

Krishnaraj king was impressed about his talents in cooking and he had given permission to start a sweet shop at the ground of Amba Vilas Palace. At that place since 1957 Guru Sweet mart is locating now, it is owning by 5th generation of Madappa.
